Below are a number of helpful websites. A bibliography is coming soon of books which support this work as well. Check back often, as more websites and a little info about them will be added. Please note that clicking on one of the links below will take you away from the AttachmentSkills.com web site.

www.circleofsecurity.org - This group of clinicians and researchers have been setting the world of attachment research on fire with their positive outcomes. They have created the "gold" of changing at-risk parent's internal working model of relationship. Once the "empathic shift" is made for older children, then their work becomes directly applicable to them.

www.zerotothree.org - Comprehensive website of the National Center for Clinical Infant Mental Health. It is an amazing resource on many levels. My work has pioneered the application of their theory and principles to support older children.

www.instituteforattachment.org - Website of the Institute for Attachment and Child Development. These folks are the oldest, largest and most well-networked providers of attachment-related services in the country, formerly the Attachment Center at Evergreen.

www.attach.org - Website for the Association for the Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children, really nailed the acronym! This is the oldest (20 years) and largest organization of professionals (and parents!) who focus on treating attachment disturbances. They have moved to embrace important changes in the treatment models they endorse, and now welcome a wide range of non-coercive practices in support of healing these children.

www.childtraumaacademy.com - The website for Bruce Perry's original program at Baylor College of Medicine, who did the pioneering research in the neurobiology of trauma and its impact on the developing infant brain. He documented the permanent state of low-level alarm the victims of early neglect/abuse live in, years after it stopped.

www.danielahughes.homestead.com - Website of Dan Hughes, Ph.D. Dan is probably the preeminent clinician, author and trainer working in the country today on childhood attachment disturbances. He is very well grounded in academic attachment research in his therapy, and has done more than anyone to advance the "Paradigm Shift" away from coercive techniques to heal these children.

www.attachmentdisorder.net - A website with many links in support of adoption and adoptive parents.
